Leonidas: Daxos. What a pleasant surprise.

Daxos: This morning’s full of surprises. We heard Sparta’s on the warpath. We were eager to join forces.

Leonidas: If it’s blood you seek, you’re welcome to join us.

Daxos: But you bring only this handful of soldiers…against Xerxes? I see I was wrong to expect Sparta’s commitment to at least match our own.

Leonidas: Doesn’t it? You, there…what is your profession?

Arcadian: I’m a potter.

Leonidas: And you Arcadian, what is your profession?

Arcadian: Sculptor, Sir.

Leonidas: You?

Arcadian: Blacksmith.

Leonidas: Spartans! What is your profession?

Spartans: AGHROO! AGHROO! AGHROO!

Leonidas: See old friend? I brought more soldiers than you did.

Here’s the lesson: If you’re treating your business like a hobby, and someone asks, “What do you do?” you tell them your job.

If you think like a business owner, and someone asks you your profession, you’re not embarrassed, ashamed, or uncomfortable to tell them you own your own business. It’s something you’re proud of - more than a job. Anyone can get a job. Few have the courage or strength to venture into the Land of Opportunity and actually take advantage of the free enterprise system of this country, and own their own business.

But to succeed, you have to be all-in, willing to fight, and good at it! It’s a profession, not a diversion.
